Actually never initiate contact. However if subject touches staff under self defence rules you may use equal force to subdue the subject

The most important rule of all for any 'security' or 'access control' people is this.
-- NEVER TOUCH AN ATTENDEE --
Don't touch them to get their attention, don't touch them to move them back into a line, don't touch them to warn them. If things get to that point, call facility security (or if you do it, call your own subcontracted security firm).

Subject: [ACML] Security training for staffers
Friends,
My staff has been discussing security, i.e. trouble, if and when to
get physical, crowd control, etc. I'd like to give them a specific set
of instructions, like a manual of DO'S & DONT'S, CAN'S & CANNOT'S.
Does anybody have anything like this, or any resources you can direct
me to?
Obviously the first thing to do is call con security. The question is
what to do before security, or in some cases the cops, get there. What
should they be prepared for, etc.
Any ideas?
regards,
Jonathan "Jake" Tarbox
