[ACML] Fw: Name of Events (Anime USA)

Yeah, it's funny how she always says that. Especially considering
none of the names she claims (Splash Page Comics, Anime USA, etc.)
are registered even in the state in which she does business,
Missouri. If I was a bitter old man (which I've been accused of
being), I'd just register online the ficticious names under which
she's doing business, like she did with the AnimeUSA.com name. But
that would be wrong. Oh, and talking about legal action, and since
you're in contact with her, you may want to give her this tidbit:

"Failure to register your fictitious name is a misdemeanor under
Missouri law and persons failing to register are subject to charges
by their local prosecuting attorney."

her there was a problem with her company's name Anime USA.

in 1986. As time passed we realized that we were not just interested
in American comics and toys but also in Japanese toys, models and
comics etc. In order to bring these items to our location and
customers in the Midwest we started using the banner and the name
Splash Page presents Anime in the USA. By 1991 we had dropped the
term presents and started using Splash Page and Anime USA
alternately depending on the situation. We attended comic book
conventions using both names in this manner Splash Page/ Anime USA.
Many venues and promoters who had known us and our reputation as
Splash Page used that name for us first which we always tried to
correct because the two entities brought different things to events.

area of cel sales and anime sales in general and we registered the
name Anime USA as a dot com in March of that year. We also continued
the use of the name and do to this day as our chosen convention name.
It is not our choice that some conventions still use the name Splash
Page for our appearances. We also continue to use Anime USA as our
trademark and servicemark for the items we manufacture such as our
original design apparel and accessories.

longer than the time frame purported by Mr. Lin and Mr. Yu. It seems
to me that these people did not do their research before they named
their convention with my store name. I have let this go even in the
light of being called several times by someone from their con
suggesting that I 'give' them our domain name. This is certainly not
going to happen. I also have never sought to sell the name as has
been reported to me even with a reported price of five thousand
dollars--never happened--never will. If they do not see that I have
allowed them to coexsist with me and they continue in this libelous
manner then I will have no choice but to refer them to my attorney
and seek appropriate legal resolutions.
