 From the con website: 

"Additionally there are some elements to our fandom that are at odds with 
Ushicon's mission to pay respects to the creators and artists of anime and 
manga." 

That comment very much intrigues me. I'm sure there's a good story behind 
that which I'd enjoy hearing.
