Well I did call SPJA via phone. God Bless the phone cards.
 
Spoke to someone named Katy to office manager. She was so nice but like a fanboy I was like"Oh my God you guys are legends!!!"
 
But Yeah I talked these cats mainly about ACU. So hopefully I'll hear something.
 
Kinda like when I met up with Jim and Robin.
 
That reminds me I took a pic with Jim at Otakon and have yet to get it to him.

Just as a note, AX has SoCal and NorCal people as well. It's not uncommon for there to be separate meetings or teleconferenced meetings. Jen Pon was NorCal, for example. 
If I understand correctly, some travel expenses within reason might be reimbursed too. 
If you're interested in being on the board, it's my understanding that most of such meetings are handled via teleconference so travel might not even be an issue.
