It could be great! Even if the trips are less frequent. 
Nobody else from this vast body of talent has expressed interest. Think we can do it?

Just as a note, AX has SoCal and NorCal people as well. It's not uncommon for there to be separate meetings or teleconferenced meetings. Jen Pon was NorCal, for example.  
If I understand correctly, some travel expenses within reason might be reimbursed too.  
If you're interested in being on the board, it's my understanding that most of such meetings are handled via teleconference so travel might not even be an issue.
